Early Career Researcher (ECR) event

The EuroBIC-18 Local Organising Committee, alongside the SBIC ECR Committee, are pleased to announce that there will be 10 dedicated ECR oral presentation slots within the main conference programme. This is to provide opportunities for ECRs (including Masters students, PhD scholars and postdoctoral researchers) to showcase their research to the international bioinorganic chemistry community and engage with leading scientists in the field.

To be considered, we invite ECRs to submit their abstracts, and when doing so indicate that they wish to be considered for one of these oral presentation slots using the contact form. The presenters will be selected following a peer-review process, taking into account factors including career stage, research field, gender balance, diversity and geographic location to ensure we have broad representation of ECRs. Each will receive a Certificate of Achievement and a prize. Please note "Early Career Researchers" refers to individuals who are within ten years of receiving their highest degree (MSc, PhD, etc.), with consideration for career breaks such as parental leave, illness, or other factors.

Furthermore, in order to promote the personal and professional development of ECRs during EuroBIC-18 and further advance our SBIC ECR Professional Network, a separate ECR social gathering will take place during the Conference. Further details will be provided once arrangements are confirmed.
